Germanwings run four hub airports and you may have to change planes at one of these to reach your destination. Your baggage will be checked through to your final destination. The Germanwings hub airports are Cologne Airport, Stuttgart Airport, Hamburg Airport and Berlin Schönefeld Airport.

Flights to Germany starting at € 30 + fees

Germanwings now offer flights to Germany starting at 30 Euro plus a payment fee of 8 Euro. Book no later than Sunday November 13th for flights between November 19th and March 24th 2012.
Booking tickets
As for most of the European discount airlines, you get the best ticket price on Germanwings if you order your ticket well in advance of your departure date. For the summer holidays, new years vacation and Easter you will often have to order tickets several months in advance to get the lowest priced tickets available.
Germanwings baggage rules
Germanwings charges a fee per checked bag and also a fee per kg when the combined weight of all bags exceed 20 kg. For example, if you want to check two bags each with a weight of 15 kg, you will have to pay a fee for each bag plus a per kg fee for the 10 kg exceeding the 20 kg limit.
The charge for baggage is higher at the airport compared to paying when you order your flight ticket.

You are allowed to bring one piece of hand luggage on board with a maximum weight of 8 kg.

Rebooking, change of name and cancelling tickets
You can rebook a ticket on Germanwings, but you will have to pay a fee for this in addition to the difference between what you paid for the original ticket and the current price for tickets on the flight you want to travel on.
No refund is issued if you do not use a ticket or cancel the ticket.
