The Vasa Museum is a sight not to be missed when you visit Stockholm. The Vasa Ship housed in the museum is the world's only surviving 17th-century ship. The ship sank in the Stockholm harbour on its maiden voyage in 1628. The Vasa Ship was salvaged in 1961 and has since been preserved and exhibited at the Vasa Museum.
